Hoffman2:MATLAB Licenses
This page describes how to setup pulling licenses from Hoffman2 onto your local machine.
Windows
1. Install Cwygin with the instructions here. ONLY FOLLOW SECTION 5.3 - Installing Cygwin
2. Move win-matlab.sh [Ask your adminstrator for this file] into C:/cygwin64/usr/local/bin
3. Make sure Matlab is installed in Programs (Default Settings)
4. Open up Cywgin and type [ win-matlab.sh ] and it should ask for your hoffman2 credentials. - You will be entering your password several times. So no, you didn't type it incorrectly.
Macs/Linux
1. Make sure Matlab is installed in your Applications Folder (Mac OSX) or bin folder (Unix)
2. Make sure you have the matlab script on your desktop, or somewhere easily accessible [Ask your administrator for this file].
3. Open up Terminal, go to the directory you have your script, and run matlab script [ sh mac-matlab.sh]. - You will be entering your password several times. So don't worry, you type it correctly the first time.
Hoffman2
1. Log onto Hoffman2 using SSH. Please make sure you have GUI X11-window installed. More Information Here
2. Type in [ matlab ]. It will ask how long you want your session to last. Enter in however many hours you will use Matlab for. Be warned! This is a hard limit and is ENFORCED strictly. You will be kicked off of matlab when your time runs out.
