Framewise Integrated Real-time MRI Monitoring (FIRMM)

Tablet FIRMM

FIRMM can track bold EPI, Diffusion, and volume navigator (vNav) T1 and T2 sequences.

XA30

  • FIRMM on XA30 is seamlessly integrated and starts automatically via settings in the bold, diffusion, and vNav sequences. No user input is necessary.
  • If your project would like to utilize FIRMM, please reach out to CCN techs.
FIRMM Tablet Start Screen

VE11C - ARCHIVED

  • Register a subject on the scanner (normal procedure).
  • Check the threshold value on the tablet (the dotted lines above and below the 0 line) and change the value under the Settings tab if desired.
  • Open up the Windows start menu (CTRL+ESC).
  • Right click on the 'FIRMM start one patient' towards the top of the menu and click open.
    • A pop-up will appear asking whether this file is secure, select 'Run'.
  • A new pop-up will appear that has a large 'CONNECTED' message.
  • Start your scan and participant motion metrics will appear on the FMRI, DWI, or T1/T2 tabs (if using vNav structural).
  • Note that the percentage reflects the aggregate motion metrics up to the current moment. If you're looking for the percentage that corresponds to only a particular series, tap "Show Series" and make sure only the one you're interested in is checked.
  • No need to take any further action when your scan is complete. If the next group intends to collect FIRMM data, they will start the process again (register patient, right click "FIRMM start one patient", etc.) and the tablet will automatically sync with the new functionals as they are acquired.
