EEG Net Names

Back to all things EEG

Users can identify individual EEG nets by serial number or by nickname. In the interests of fun and science, the nets are named after constellations. The names for different categories of nets come from different constellation families.


EEG Only

These net names come from the Ursa Major family. Go Bruins!

  • Cohen 54-56 cm: Leo Minor
  • Cohen 58-61 cm: Corona Borealis
  • Feusner 54-56 cm: Lynx
  • Feusner 56-58 cm: Boötes
  • Feusner 58-61 cm: Draco

MR Safe

These net names come from the signs of the zodiac.

  • Older 56-58 cm: Scorpio
  • Newer 58-61 cm: Taurus
  • Newer 58-61 cm: Cancer
  • Newer 58 cm: Canis Major (part of the Orion family, but became just a normal MR safe net after EGI repair)

Modified MR Safe

These net names come from the Orion family.

  • 54-56 cm: Lepus
  • 56-58 cm: Canis Minor
  • 56-58 cm: Orion

Retired Nets

  • Older EEG-only net 54-56cm: Ursa Minor (in the shop)
  • Older EEG-only net 58-61cm: Ursa Major (in the shop)
  • Older EEG/MR net 54-56 cm: Gemini (returned to EGI)
  • Older EEG/MR net 56-58 cm: Libra (returned to EGI)
