Below is a general checklist of items to complete for incoming staff and students.

  1. Register for a g.ucla.edu (google) account:
  2. Install and configure VPN on your personal computer:
  3. Complete CITI research training:
  4. If your lab uses the Hoffman2 cluster for data processing:
    1. Register for a Hoffman2 account:
    2. Download X2Go:
    3. Configure X2Go for remote desktop access to Hoffman2:
  5. Complete any UCLA Health training certifications listed under “My Transcript” (requires AD/Mednet ID):
  6. Complete MRI and/or EEG Certification
    • For MRI safety certification, you will need to enroll in the Staglin Center Safety module on BruinLearn. Please get an enrollment link from your lab manager or through the CCN email list/Slack channel.
    • The rest of the process is outlined in more detail on the BruinLearn module. To summarize, a new user who wants to be safety certified needs to:
    1. Attend a Walkthrough Training session (in person at CCN).
    2. Submit their Walkthrough Worksheet and pass the Walkthrough Exam (on BruinLearn).
    3. Attend an Operations Training session (at CCN).
    4. Pass the Operations Exam (on BruinLearn).
